When I Stopped Trying to Carry it All
If you’re here, chances are you’re tired of carrying everything on your own. I get it. You may not even realize that’s what you’re doing, or that you were never asked to. You just know you love your kids and want what’s best for them. And even though you’re working so hard, something still feels off.
You may find yourself thinking it shouldn’t be this difficult. You’re exhausted, trying to figure out how to fix it before it’s too late.
Learning to Rest in God’s Care
What changed for me wasn’t my curriculum or my schedule. It was learning to trust that God has a plan and is far more invested in my family and me than I ever imagined.
I learned, to my utter surprise, that God loves my children even more than I do. And in time, I began to understand something just as humbling: that He cares for me too, more attentively and faithfully than I’ve ever thought possible.
I still struggle to fully comprehend that kind of love.
In a world that keeps saying, “You’ve got this!” I finally found the freedom to say to Him, with complete honesty, “No, I don’t.” And in response, I sensed Him gently say, “That’s okay. I do. I’ve got you. It’s going to be okay.”
Peace came to me when I stopped trying to control everything. Stopped trying to figure everything out, stopped striving for perfection, and stopped mapping out the next five years. I released all of that into God’s hands as an act of faith and instead focused on one thing: learning of Him.
What Changed When I Let Him Lead
As I did, God taught me to cast down fearful and negative thoughts and to intentionally look for the good in each situation and give thanks. Over time, something shifted. I stopped wrestling with every inner prompting and striving to get everything right, and I began to enjoy the journey again.
There is now a quiet knowing that stays with me, that everything is going to be okay. No matter what it looks like. No matter if I understand it or can explain it. Even on days that feel like an utter mess, I trust that God is at work, faithfully working things together for the good of my family.
There is now a quiet knowing that stays with me, that everything is going to be okay.
A Lighter Way Forward
Faith-led homeschooling isn’t about getting it perfect. It’s about slowing down and quieting the noise around us so we can better hear God speak to our hearts.
It’s learning to connect with Him (not in an obscure or religious way), but in a real and personal one. As we do, we begin to live more freely as the people we were created to be: vessels through which God can work.
We begin to realize we were never meant to carry it all. And that realization lifts the weight of homeschooling, allowing us to focus less on striving and more on what truly matters: relationships. Connecting heart to heart, mind to mind, spirit to spirit.
As striving fades, we learn to trust God with our relationships, leaving room for the sweetness He desires to grow in His time.

If you’re reading these words and see yourself in them, I invite you to join the journey to Create a Homeschool Life. It isn’t about having all the answers or doing things perfectly. It’s about learning to trust God, who loves you and your family more than you can imagine and who wants the best for all of us.
I’m still learning, still growing, and still trusting Him with my family, even now. If you would like to learn and grow in this trust together, you’re welcome here.
